This series of photographs criticizes and explores the lack of diversity and positive representation in the mainstream film industry, with a focus on ethnicity and gender. The images were constructed to resemble film stills through a collaborative process between artist and subject. Some images are based on existing films while others invited the subject to use their vision to express how they wish to be portrayed. The work is intended to question mainstream films as a reflection of society and to empower the people who could fill the many diverse roles that have been omitted in the past.
